Carter Wayne Leach was found murdered in Catoosa on April 26, 2008. He was thirty-two years old.

Carter went missing from the Tulsa area on March 28th. It’s believed that he was on his way to America’s Value Inn in Tulsa to see a man named Perry Williams. The reason that he was said to have been on his way to see Williams, was to collect on a drug debt. After his sister couldn’t find him or get a hold of him, she reported Carter missing on April 2nd.

On April 26th, a call would be made to the police department reporting a suspicious smell at the Kick’s 66 Truck Stop in Catoosa. When they arrived to investigate, authorities found a body wrapped in plastic and duct tape in the bed of a black Ford F-150 pickup truck. This body would later be identified as being Carter Leach. Authorities would tell the media that his body had been so tightly bound inside the plastic that they weren’t even sure they were looking at human remains at first. While they would go on to say that the truck wasn’t titled in Carter’s name, it apparently belonged to him. Employees of the truck stop told police the truck had been parked there for about a month, but they didn’t find that suspicious as vehicles are left there often while the owners are traveling.

The medical examiner would find that Carter had died from multiple blows to the head, and the plastic he was wrapped in turned out to be a shower curtain. At that point, police began to look for Perry Williams and his girlfriend, the people Carter was reportedly last going to see. The day he was last known to be alive, Carter had called a friend while at the Tulsa motel, telling the friend that he was going to kick in Perry Williams’ door. Motel employees would tell police that the room Williams had been staying in from January 30th to April 1, was found to have its shower curtain missing, a hole in the wall behind the door as if it had indeed been kicked in, and blood drops on the bathroom floor as well as in the main room. All of this was found immediately after Williams and his girlfriend suddenly left the motel on April 1 after having stayed an additional three days past when he had paid through. All of the damage to the room had been cleaned up and fixed before Carter’s body was even found. Eventually, police would go through the room with Luminol, finding what appeared to be a trail of blood drops leading from a bed to the door.

Despite all of this, there haven’t been any arrests in the murder of Carter Leach. No matter what his lifestyle was- he was a father, he was a friend, he was a son and a brother. He deserves justice.
