On May 24th Roy’s body was discovered by his apartment manager and maintenance worker in his apartment at 9:15 am. The worker had been by Roy’s apartment at 8 am and the door was closed. When he came back shortly after 9 am the door was open. The worker thought Ray may have left the door open when he left or his apartment had been broken into. When the worker and the apartment manager entered the apartment they found Ray lying on his side. His body was cold and it was determined he’d died from at least 15 stab wounds to the head. The murder weapon was recovered but what was used hasn’t been publicly released. There were no signs of struggle inside the apartment but it looked as if another bed besides Roy’s was slept in. Police believe that Roy was killed by someone he knew and while he was asleep. Roy was last seen the night before around 8 pm when he helped his neighbor bathe a dog.
