On August 12, 1978 at about 7 a.m. James Marcellus Callahan was found in the alleyway behind the Grant Apartment building 1103 S. Main Street behind a dumpster by a pedestrian who called for help. The victim died from a laceration to his throat.

James Marcellus Callahan, affectionately known as “Pops” was a carpenter-contractor in Milwaukee for many years and served with the 8th Air Force during WW II.
