On June 24th, 1987 the remains of a female were found in a creek bed that was located about a mile west of the Paoli exit off of Interstate 35. Her cause of death was a gunshot wound to the back of the head, and authorities have stated that it appears she had been shot either while standing with her head bowed or while kneeling, in what they’ve called a “classic” execution style position.

The woman has become known as either Paoli Jane Doe or Garvin County Jane Doe. It is believed she was likely between the ages of 21 and 35 when she was murdered. Paoli Jane would have been a caucasian female standing around 5 foot 3, her hair was light brown that had some grey in it.
Near Paoli Jane’s body, authorities found a Camp Beverly Hills sweatshirt that was blue with white and pink stripes, a bra, and a pair of white socks with red and blue stripes around the top. DNA and dentals are available in Paoli Jane Doe’s case. Missing persons who have been ruled out as being Paoli Jane are included in the photos below

If you have any information regarding the identity of Paoli Jane Doe, please contact Garvin County Sheriff’s Office at (405) 238-7591.
