Lisa Ann Ledbetter was 24-years-old when she was last seen leaving Jake & Elwood’s Tavern after midnight on the 5800 block of S. Peoria in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 24th, 1984. According to the September 27th, 1984 issue of the Sapulpa Daily Herald police were looking for a man seen leaving the bar with Lisa.

That next morning Lisa’s body was discovered in a field near 31300 S. 29th West Avenue, the road leading up to the Channel 8 studios. That same article from September 27th states this was also close to where her parent’s home was located. A hunting knife was found near her body and the sheath had been left behind. She was stabbed 5 times.

There are no publicly known suspects in her murder and no one has ever been charged.
