Lena Gayle Johnson was found severely injured in a Tulsa roadway in the early morning hours of August 10, 1998. That morning, Lena had called her husband from a Tulsa gas station, presumably asking him to come get her, because her husband would arrive at the station fifteen minutes later only to find Lena missing. About 45 minutes later is when Lena would be found by police in the roadway. She would die the next day, August 11th, of a subdural hematoma.
