Soon after she was reported missing, Leah’s body was found by a farmer in a field near Greenfield, Oklahoma on September 20th, 1997. She was not recognizable and needed to be identified with dental records. Leah’s cause of death was found to be blunt force trauma to the head. Her skull was reportedly broken in 8 places.

Previous persons of interest were cleared when DNA evidence found on Leah’s body did not match them and investigators found that key witnesses testifying under immunity were perjuring themselves.

It is believed that Leah was targeted because of her Native lineage. She had Arapaho, Comanche, and Cheyenne ancestry.

Leah has many family members, loved ones, and friends who miss her deeply. She was a trusting and compassionate girl with a bright future. If you have any information about Leah’s murder please call Geary Police Department at 405-884-2167. There is a $15,000 reward for information leading to a suspect.
