Kent Douglas Flowers was found deceased in Cherokee County, Oklahoma on August 5th, 1983. Pictured here at 17, he was 27 when he was murdered.

Kent’s body was found in a ditch 10 miles northeast of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, near Lost City, by a kid collecting cans. He was decomposed when found. It was determined that Kent was killed by four blows to the head with a blunt instrument.

Kent was born March 28th, 1956 and was of the Cherokee Nation. He was living in Muskogee at the time and had recently been released from treatment for substance abuse disorder. Kent worked for a fencing company at the time. He attended US Grant High School as a teen. His parents were Billy Gene Flowers and Sammie Cordilla Sam. His mother attended Chilocco Indian School and went on to become a jet engine mechanic. She passed away in 2010 without knowing who killed her son.
