On September 21st, 1996, an unknown suspect used accelerant to start a fire in apt. 37 in the Thomas Square Apartments located at 1050 E. 61st St. in Tulsa, Oklahoma at 5:30am. Inside that apartment was recently bedridden Georgia Ann Horey, her partner Royal Morris and their son Royal Morris, Jr. Royal and Royal, Jr. were able to escape the burning apartment but Georgia, who was a wheelchair user and disabled, was unable to get out in time. Cause of death was determined to be smoke inhalation.

The fire was started in Georgia’s living room but no one has ever been identified as a suspect. Georgia’s case remains unsolved.
