On January 10th, 1987, an older gentleman entered the reading room at the Christian Science Reading Room located at 2305 N. Pennsylvania Ave at 2:45 pm in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and made a terrible discovery – the body of 75-year-old Exie Lee Wilkerson. Exie was slumped over the desk she worked from. It was determined that cause of death was one gunshot to the head.

Though the drawers of the room were pulled open and Exie’s purse was missing, detectives don’t believe robbery is necessarily the motive. It’s believed the killer fired just one shot from a small caliber weapon when Exie stood up to greet him around noon that day. There were no witnesses to the slaying.

Exie was born Exie Lee Vick on May 8th, 1911 in Hugo, Oklahoma. She was married to Frank Wilkerson but was widowed in 1976 and lived alone in NW Oklahoma City. She was a real estate agent and very religious.

Please call the OKC Crime Stoppers at 405-235-7300 with any information in the senseless murder of Exie Lee Wilkerson.
