Fourteen year old Marina Rodriguez went missing from her Hollis home on September 25, 2006. Marina’s case was initially treated as if she were a runaway, however her body would later be found on October 8, 2006 about a mile from her home. She was found in a shallow grave with layers of duct tape wrapped around her eyes, nose, and mouth as well as a plastic bag tied around her head. Marina suffocated to death. The same day Mariana went missing, so did a family friend who had been staying in the Rodriguez household. The man, Francisco Rogel, was the last person she was seen with and a warrant for him has been issued, calling him a material witness. Marina’s family believes Rogel is her murderer.
