On November 12, 1988 Dwayne McCorkendale, 27, was driving his truck like most days. He stopped at a rest stop at mile 31 off the westbound lane of the Turner Turnpike in Lincoln County, Ok to make a call at the payphone. He was shot in the back with a shotgun. An anonymous caller reported his body and Oklahoma Highway Patrol arrived at the scene at 8pm, finding Dwayne lying on the ground, loose change surrounding him.

Dwayne’s keys and wallet were missing and investigators estimate $25 dollars was taken. The suspects were described as a white male and a black male, sometimes accompanied by a white female in a brown Ford Pinto. There is a possible connection to El Dorado Jane Doe as the white female suspect. Investigators believe that the suspects used a CB radio to stalk truckers to rob them. The brown Ford Pinto described had a CB antenna.

Dwayne loved his job. He was well loved by his family. Dwayne was a father to young twin girls. He is greatly missed. If you have any information on Dwayne’s murder please call 800.522.8017.
