Its been almost 10 years since Shelby Hughes, 33, and her boyfriend Bryan VanAssche, 34, were found murdered in their Midwest City home on June 21, 2014. Authorities stated that Shelby died from blunt force trauma to the head, while Bryan’s neck had been slashed. Their home, located in the 1400 block of Maple Drive, was set on fire in the early morning hours. It is believed that their bodies had been in the home a few days before the fire. After the fire was extinguished, it was declared a crime scene.

Authorities believe drugs could play a roll in their deaths. Allegedly Shelby and Bryan met at a heroin hookup site in 2000, according to detectives. They believe the two had been selling heroin sometime before their deaths.
