Brenda Jean Young was found murdered at her home at Comanche Park Apartments in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 5th, 1997. She was 31 at the time.

At 7:41 pm neighbors from the complex, located at 1300 E. 36th North, called in reports of gunshots. Law enforcement arrived at 1329 E. 36th North and found her near the kitchen pantry shot multiple times in the chest. Right before the shooting witnesses reported hearing Brenda shouting, “Don’t beat me up again!”. Brenda had been shot several times in the chest with a semi-automatic weapon. Witnesses also reported seeing a black man, about 6’2, 180 lbs, wearing green insulated coveralls and a black knit cap run from her apartment. There are no publicly known suspects in Brenda’s murder.

Brenda Jean Young was born July 23rd, 1965 and grew up in the Tulsa area. She attended Central High School. She was a beloved mother, sister, and daughter.
