On February 26th, 1993, a woman digging for cans at the Applewood Square Townhomes in Norman, Oklahoma made a terrible discovery – a deceased newborn in a cardboard box in the dumpster behind the apartments located at 1412 E. Lindsay. The infant remains unidentified to this day.

The infant is estimated to have been born at 37 weeks gestation. The little girl was white with dark hair and blue eyes. She was 5 lbs and 19 inches. It’s estimated she was in the dumpster for about two days. The umbilical cord was still attached. There was no trauma found. The apartment manager is quoted as saying he didn’t believe anyone from the complex was responsible. There were about 40 units at the time, mostly a mix of college students and married couples.
