On August 12, 1998 the eighty-one year old victim, William Carroll was at his residence 1619 N. Boston. Officers discovered that the victim had been stabbed. On August 20, 1998 the William died at the hospital as a results of his injuries. Robbery appeared to be the motive. Police say William answered the door and was stabbed twice in the chest.
