Velma Anna Randolph Swank, pictured here with her husband, Ralph Ruben Swank, was murdered on March 2nd, 1995 in Watts, Oklahoma. She was 82-years-old. It remains an open case.

Velma’s body was found in her own backyard. She was entangled in barbed wire, covered in contusions, cuts and scrapes. She had blunt force trauma to her head and cause of death was determined to be exposure. It had become extremely cold that night. It’s believed that Velma was escaping a robbery attempt in her home. She was likely trying to get to a family member’s home.

Velma was born March 10th, 1917 in Camp Verde, Arizona. She and Ralph had one son together.
