On August 17th, 1984, the body of Teresa Kay Turner was found in her grandmother’s ceramic shop in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Investigators could never find a motive for her murder and it remains unsolved.

Teresa, 17, was in Anadarko visiting her grandmother for the summer from Belleview, Nebraska. Her uncle, Oscar Humphreys, discovered her body at 7:45 pm after Teresa failed to return to her grandmother’s house. He rushed Teresa to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Teresa had been dead for 3 to 4 hours. The autopsy revealed that Teresa had massive head injuries from a large ceramic mold used to beat her, along with a dozen puncture wounds in her back. Cause of death was traumatic brain injury. Investigators believe that robbery wasn’t the motive as there was no money in the shop to take and Teresa only had some loose change in her pockets.

Teresa was born September 29th, 1966 in Altus, Oklahoma. She lived in Belleview, Nebraska with her parents and had plans to attend Metropolitan Technical Community College that fall to study computer science. She had earned a scholarship and was looking forward to her future. Teresa, who was an ROTC member, was the granddaughter of Oscar and Johnnie Humphreys.
