Samantha Renee Patrick was just 22-years-old was last seen September 12, 2002 at the Flying J Travel Plaza on 1-40 and Morgan road. Just one day later, she was found with multiple stab wounds to the neck and upper torso, behind an Albertsons store in Yukon, Oklahoma. Samantha frequented this truck stop due to her involvement in survival sex work. Samantha was also a dancer at some local clubs.
John Robert Williams, also known as the “truck stop killer,” and his girlfriend Rachel Cumberland were, and remain, suspects in her murder, but no charges were filed against either. Cumberland and Williams were both charged in the murder of a young woman in Mississippi in 2002. Cumberland was released from prison in 2013, and Williams remains behind bars, charged with a life sentence. Williams has admitted to killing over thirty woman, and is suspected of killing another woman from OKC, Casey Jo Pipestem.
Samantha had family in the OKC area and lived alone. Samantha’s aunt made a statement in 2004 stating she “knew her niece was a fighter,” and claimed there was bound to be evidence of her killer on her body. To this day, Samantha’s killer has never been charged. If you have any information about the murder of Samantha Patrick, please contact the Yukon Police Department at 405-354-1102.
