Ocie Mae Platt was found murdered in her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 4th, 1991. The 70-year-old lived alone. Her case remains open and unsolved.

That day, Ocie’s close friend and across-the-street neighbor Willie Mae Thompson, tried to call Ocie but she didn’t answer the phone. Willie Mae then called Julian Pratt, Ocie’s son. When Junior arrived at Ocie’s home around 3:30 pm he found the front door locked but the back door unlocked. When he walked in, he made a horrifying discovery – his mother’s body.

Police arrived and found that there were signs of a struggle in three of the five rooms of Ocie’s home, located at 1619 N. Cincinnati Avenue. Ocie, 70 and recently ill, fought back as much as possible. As far as could be seen nothing was taken and it’s believed robbery is not the motive. Cause of death was determined to be stabbing, five times to the chest.

Ocie was born in Arkansas on December 29th, 1920. She was married to Oder Lee Platt, an Army veteran, until 1982 when he passed away. They were married for over 40 years.

Please call the Tulsa PD at 918-596-9222 with any information in the senseless murder of Ocie Mae Platt.
