47-year-old Lydia Michelle Gibson was shot on April 14th, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She died from her injuries on June 20th, 2018. Her case remains open and unsolved.

Lydia worked at Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen at 1117 E. Pine St. in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was closing her shift at 11 pm when someone attempted to rob the place. An unknown male was hiding near the back door when Lydia opened the back door after hosing down the floor in the back. As she did so the man jumped out and police believe Lydia instinctively sprayed him with the hose. The man then shot Lydia in the forehead.

The shooter was described as a black male, aged 18-25, about 6’0 and 180 lbs. He fled northwest through a hole in the fence line. This particular Popeye’s had been robbed several times.
