On October 28th, 1992, 84-year-old Lera Ramsey Williams Childers was found murdered in her home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her case remains unsolved after 32 years.

Lera was found murdered in her home at 726 NW 97th in Oklahoma City on the floor by her Mobile Meals volunteer on October 28th. The same woman had been delivering meals to Lera for years and Lera often left her door ajar for meal time because she was hard of hearing. Detectives, however, believe someone broke into her home earlier in the day and likely entered through a rear window which was found with all it’s glass broken out. Cause of death was not publicly released.

Lera was born August 27th, 1908 to Benjamin Ramsey and Maybell McCoy Ramsey. She previously lived in Arkansas. Lera was previously married to Dudley Carl Williams who passed away in 1952 and. Oliver G. Childers who passed away in 1966. She had three children who all preceded her in death.
