Juanita worked at the Oklahoma State Personnel Department as an analyst. She called out of work on August 26, 1987 and that was the last known contact that anyone had with Juanita.

Her burned car was found in a ditch, in a remote area. Her car may have been in the ditch for as long as 10 hours before police were notified. Her remains were identified through dental records.
