Around 8:30 pm on April 19th, 2007, a bloodied man stumbled into the Cracker Barrel on 8008 E. 31st St. in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Witnesses saw the man running near the intersection of 31st St. and Memorial Dr. just before 8:30. That man was Joshua Jay Jeffries.

Police were called and Joshua was taken to the nearest hospital. He was in critical condition but he died the next day due to his injuries. It was determined that he was shot in the head. Investigators were told by witnesses that Joshua ran out of a house after they heard gunshots. They saw two other people run from the house to a white SUV and drive off. Unfortunately no detailed descriptions of the suspects were possible. Joshua lived on the on the 7700 block of East 31st St., just down the road from the Cracker Barrel.
