83-year-old Jessie Doolen Ward was found murdered in her home in Sasakwa, Oklahoma just days after Christmas on December 27th, 2011. Her murder remains open and unsolved.

Jessie was found murdered in her living room at her home off State Hwy 56 outside of Sasakwa by a relative that evening. Jessie died from multiple gunshot wounds. There were no signs of forced entry or of a struggle. Jessie lived alone at the time and it’s believed robbery could be the motive as her purse and two guns were taken from her home. Jessie had spoken to one of her granddaughters the morning of the murder and nothing seemed out of the ordinary at that time.

Jessie was born on July 23rd, 1928 in Sasakwa where she lived her entire life. She attended Rocky Point and Sasakwa public schools growing up and went on to marry Troy Ward on June 7th, 1947 in Arkansas. They had two sons together. Their son Troy Ward died October 5th, 2011, just months before his mother, a double tragedy. Jessie’s family continues to search for answers and justice in her murder.
