Aubrey Dameron went missing on March 9th 2019. At the time of her disappearance, she was 25 years old.
The night she was last seen, Aubrey was leaving her mother’s home in Grove around 3:30am. She had stated she was leaving to go meet someone and would be back later. She has not been heard from or seen since, and who it was she was going to meet is unknown. Aubrey had taken only her cell phone and what clothes she had on with her- the last time her cell phone pinged was around 3:42 am the same morning as she was last seen. It pinged near her mother’s house, but after that timeframe it had either died or had been shut off.
Before she disappeared, Aubrey had been staying at her mother’s house with her mother, stepfather and her brother after having just moved back to the area from New Mexico after a breakup. It has been claimed in some sources that it was possible tensions were high in the household; according to her uncle and aunt, Aubrey’s behavior had become concerning in the months leading up to her disappearance- including her communication with other family members decreasing as well as her social media presence showing decreased activity.
Aubrey is an epileptic and on medication to control her seizures, medication she left home without, so it’s unlikely she planned to be gone for a long period of time. She is also a member of the Cherokee Nation, making her yet another Indigenous Woman who has gone missing in recent years with no explanation.
Another strange part of Aubrey’s disappearance is that on March 12th, 2019, a woman claiming to be a friend of Aubrey’s called Aubrey’s ex-boyfriend in Colorado stating that Aubrey had been taken and was being held hostage due to a drug debt she owed. The friend stated Aubrey would only be released when the money was paid and asked the ex-boyfriend to pay the amount. The authorities were notified of this call and the friend was later charged with extortion and admitted the whole call was a hoax.
Currently no one has any idea what’s happened to Aubrey.
Aubrey is 25, stands at 5 feet 10 inches tall, with brown eyes and hair. She has a Triquetra tattoo on her back and one of the word “Shorty” on her upper left arm. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, black thigh length skirt and black heeled boots.
