Fifty-three year old Dana Robert McCarty was found murdered on March 28, 1968. He was found near his Henryetta home, he had been shot in the chest and beaten in the head with a claw hammer. His wife stated that two masked men dressed in Army clothing entered the home trying to rob the couple.
