Twenty-three year old Chanda Turner was found dead with a gunshot wound to her chest on July 13, 2000. She was found on the back steps of the home she shared with her boyfriend, who stated that he woke up around midnight to find her slumped over on the steps. According to the boyfriend, Chanda had been suicidal at the time of her death. As a result, her death was initially ruled a suicide. Due to her family fighting the suicide ruling and finally getting an autopsy done on their daughter- the death ruling was changed to homicide. To date there have been no charges filed in Chanda’s case.
