On August 17th, 1972, authorities discovered the remains of a white male along the highway approximately 8 miles south of Atoka, Oklahoma. He remains unidentified. 

Authorities found the male’s body weeks after his death. He was 5’8 and 155 lbs and an estimated age of 30 to 55. His remains were in advanced decomposition, likely due to the hot temperatures of August. 

Atoka John Doe had a quarter and a nickel in the left hip pocket of his blue permanent press trousers with no belt. He was also wearing white Jockey undershorts, size 30×32, a plaid green and yellow shirt, buttoned up, “Penny Towncraft” size 15-15.5 medium, green stretch socks and black lace rubber shole shoes that were made in Japan. Also He only had four teeth remaining and there were no signs of fillings. He had severe coal miner’s lung and likely had emphysema. He is listed as # UP2992 in NaMus and there are no comparisons for him.
