Aneta Muriel Huaman suffered a fatal head injury on May 4, 1994. The incident occurred at a house in north Tulsa when a bullet pierced through two walls and a door. Aneta passed away six days later at Hillcrest Medical Center.

The homicide investigation has suggested a potential connection to drug-related activities, although concrete evidence is yet to surface. Aneta and her common-law husband, Jesse Hankins, were housesitting for Hankins’ sister at the time of the incident. Around 30 minutes after arriving at the residence, they heard sounds of someone attempting to break in through the back door. Hankins spotted two men outside and shouted at them before firing a shot in their direction. Initially, Hankins denied having fired the shot but later admitted to it.

After the altercation, someone shot at the house with eight rounds. Tragically, Aneta, who was sitting on the floor talking on the phone, was struck and fatally injured. The two men responsible for the shooting managed to escape the scene in an older model Plymouth car.

Detectives have encountered significant challenges in their investigation, as no witnesses have come forward to provide information about the incident. Even the residents of the house where the crime occurred claim to have no knowledge or leads about the identity of the perpetrators. Adding complexity to the case, three days prior to the shooting, three men forcefully entered the same residence, confronting the owner and several young children. Although they did not steal anything during that incident, investigators suspect a possible connection between the two events.
