26-year-old Wanda Marie Shull was discovered in her downtown hotel room, room 11, located at 2 1/2 W. Grand in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, by the landlady on April 4th, 1945.
She had rented the room the night before. Wanda told the landlady that her husband was a service man and he was arriving on a night bus. It’s unknown if this is true. The landlady did hear noises that night around midnight. Nobody was seen leaving the hotel early that morning after Wanda was killed.
When she was discovered she was lying by the foot of the bed. She was nude and she’d been sexually assaulted. She had a broken neck, a fractured jaw, three broken ribs and internally injured from the beating. There was a broken glass found near her body and the room was a mess, indicating a struggle.
Wanda had a bit of a criminal record. She once was arrested for accosting a taxi driver with a .45 caliber revolver. She was married to Lee Shull and lived at 714 N. Durland Avenue in 1941. She was born in Kansas.
There have been no arrests in the murder of Wanda Marie Shull.
