Terry Schmidt and two co-workers were eating at a Tulsa area restaurant in July 1990. As they were leaving and getting into their individual cars, another car pulled into the parking lot and over to Terry. A man got out and pulled a gun, demanding money from Terry- who refused to give any money to him. When he began struggling with the man the gun went off. Terry would later die from his wounds the next morning at a nearby hospital. The vehicle the suspect fled in would be found later at a recreational center. The weapon was recovered inside the vehicle.
