On December 22nd, 1997, at 4:30 am, an intruder came into the home of Shirley Kay Clinton and her two young daughters in Kaw City, Oklahoma. The intruder tied up all three victims and put them in their beds. The suspect then began to set fire to the home. The two girls, ages 6 & 9, were able to escape before the fire reached them. Unfortunately, Shirley was not able to escape and died in the fire.

Shirley’s home was located a mile east of Kaw City. Police indicated that the murder “looked domestic in nature”. The suspect was a white man about 50 years old with a slender build. The man had short, light brown curly hair and a brown beard at the time.

Shirley was born Shirley Kay Fesler on May 14th, 1969 in Homestead, Florida. She attended Shidler HS in Shidler, Oklahoma. Shirley was married on May 12th, 1990 and the couple had two daughters together. Shirley also leaves behind two siblings.
