Sandra Janel Beard was last seen alive at a truck stop near I-40 and Morgan Road. Her body was found by a salesman traveling I-40 when he pulled off at the Tiger Mountain exit in McIntosh County on September 18th, 2003. She was nude. Cause of death was determined to be asphyxiation.

It’s suspected that she could be a victim of John Robert Williams but he has never been charged in her murder. John Robert Williams may be responsible for dozens of murders along highways. He was a semi-truck driver. He is currently in prison for murder.

Sandra had been struggling with addiction to cocaine at the time of her murder and she was involved in survival sex work, mostly at truck stops. She was also a devoted mother to her daughter. Sandra, who was sometimes known as Sandy, was born in Enid, Oklahoma on July 26th, 1960. She was 43-years-old at the time of her murder. She graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1978. She was married once previously and divorced in 1984. She is one of four children and her maiden name was Bates.
