Patricia “Patty” Ann Leflett was murdered by arson on May 24th, 1990 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was supposed to be getting married that coming Saturday.

On May 15th, 1990 at 3:40am, someone set fire to the Country Creek Apartments at 10300 S. Western. Patty and her fiancé, Paul David Owen, were in sleeping in his apartment on the second floor, # 1713. They both tried to escape the fire but Patty ran straight into it. Paul was injured but survived. Patty died 9 days later, May 24th, at the Baptist Burn Center around 1am. She had 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 93% of her body.

Patty was born on February 27th, 1970. She had just been accepted for the fall semester to the OU School of Dentistry. Patty was a beloved member of the Putnam City Baptist Church congregation.
