Robert Foster went missing from Oklahoma City on January 25, 1996. At the time, he was 24 years old.
According to his girlfriend, Rob dropped her off at work on the 25th and then went to a friend’s house to speak with him about a vehicle that Rob was buying from him. Allegedly a fight broke out between the two friends, with Rob’s parting words being “If Jennifer calls tell her I went to Bricktown to make a call.”. When Rob left his friend’s home, he supposedly did so on foot.
No one would file Rob missing until February 8th, when Jennifer contacted his parents wanting his social security number in order to file a missing persons report. This is when Bud and Patsy Foster would learn their only child was missing. When asked why she waited two weeks before telling anyone he was gone, Jennifer said she thought he was “just off playing” and would return later. The clothing that Rob had been wearing would be found inside the vehicle that Rob had left at his friends home. It’s possible that Rob’s body was in the trunk on the vehicle, a theory that is given a bit of sway when you take into account the fact that an informant would later say that Rob had been shot in the head and put into the trunk of a car. The trunk of the car Rob was driving however was never searched.
Prior to her death, Robert’s mother worked tirelessly to try and find him, and to find someone to help her. She wrote to senator’s, Dateline, Unsolved Mysteries, and then Oklahoma County district attorney Bob Macy- all to no avail. Both of Rob’s parents died without ever finding out what happened to their son.
