Mary Ann Etter was a 23 year old wife and mother of a young son on March 5th, 1983. Mary Ann was never seen after this day.

Mary Ann had been at the Skate-A-Thon skating rink, located in the 1900 block of Northwest 72nd Street in Lawton , Ok. She was celebrating her recent birthday. She has some friends pick her up between 11 pm and 12 am. The friends reported they dropped her off at her home in the 400 block or North Drive in Fletcher. Her friends reported when they pulled up to the home there was no lights on in the house. But as Mary Ann was walking towards the house the friends noticed a light in the house come on. This was strange since there was not suppose to be anyone in the house. Mary Ann’s husband was visiting his parents with their young son that night. This was the very last time Mary Ann was ever seen.

A few days after she was last seen, Mary Ann’s brother and sister went to the home. Along with Mary Ann not being there, there was nothing missing. Her siblings did notice blood on the back porch. It’s reported that her siblings cleaned this blood up at that time.

There were some clothes possibly connected with Mary Ann’s disappearance found in a dumpster in Fletcher. These were collected as evidence.

Her father reported her missing two weeks later. Authorities executed a search warrant on the Etter’s home May 1991. During the search of the home the investigators used Luminal, to detect blood. Investigators found a blood trail from the front door, down the hallway, into the living room with the trail ending at the back of the house. But no further evidence was ever found.

Mary Ann’s original missing persons report was lost. A new report was filed in 1990.

Mary Ann’s husband has since remarried and still lives in the residence he shared with Mary Ann in 1983.
