Lisa Farmer went missing from her Lawton area home on August 2nd, 1983. She was eighteen years old.

On the evening of August 2nd, Lisa was seen through the window of her home by a neighbor. This would be the last time anyone would ever see Lisa Farmer. Lisa, her husband, and their baby had only moved into the home three days before she went missing. At the time of her disappearance, Lisa’s husband, who was active duty military, was away on a field exercise.

The next morning, after hearing the Farmer baby crying continuously, the neighbor who had seen Lisa the evening before went over to find out if something was wrong. What they found was Lisa’s son alone in the home; he was hungry and had a soiled diaper, but was otherwise unharmed. The back door to the home was found unlocked, and a dining room window was left open. Most disturbing was it appears that all of Lisa’s belongings, including her identification and keys, were found in the house. As far as I know there was no forced entry found, but depending on which report you read there might have been signs of a struggle.

Lisa was just…gone. All that appeared to be missing with her was a floral printed nightgown.

About two months later, Cynthia Lynn Ross’ body was found thrown over a bridge. A man named Kenneth Wagstaff was tried for her murder as he is the last person to see her alive. According to Wagstaff, Ross had given him a ride to a friend’s house saying that she would be back, but he never saw her again. Kenneth Wagstaff was acquitted of Cynthia’s murder, and apparently returned to New York which is where he was from. He remains the primary suspect in Lisa Farmer’s disappearance.

Lisa’s son was only fourteen months old when his mother went missing. He most likely witnessed whatever happened to her in that home. He deserves to know what happened to his mother.

If you have any information regarding the disappearance of possible whereabouts of Lisa Farmer, please contact the Lawton Police Department at 580-581-3270.
